hostel review: moloch hostel, cancun

6-bed mixed dorm, $180 MXP pp/per night, 19th – 20th March 2014

Vibe: Clean and clinical white walls welcoming all spectrums of traveller through its lack of pathos and identity.

Location: A few minutes from Cancun's bus terminal makes it convenient for anyone arriving by air or nearby cities. For those wanting the Cancun 'spring break' experience, maybe best to find somewhere nearer the beach.

Best thing: Professional, clean and safe. Excellent showering facilities. Everything that a HI hostel should be. 

Worst thing: Mexico is a country of colour, individuality and character – none of these are reflected here. This is not a place to make friends over a cold beer (alcohol is strictly prohibited).

Value for money: We wanted a safe, well located hostel to start our trip and this did deliver, and on budget.

Recommended for: Anyone and everyone. 

Top tip: Do not follow the Lonely Planet map to find this hostel (ask for directions when you think you're close by).
